Hey all!  Greetings from the airport, as a reminder, if you’re a loyalty member of Vino Volo, you can pick up a cellar taste for $2.  How does their offering today, St. Innocent Pinot Noir 2010, stack up as a choice for your thanksgiving table?

Sight: Light rose around the edges, with a more garnet interior

Smell:  Jammy raspberries and blackberries are complimented by orange blossom with hints of cigar box, and vanilla add complexity.  Touches of earthy forest floor, soy, and caramel join in.

Sip:  Bright, slightly smokey and dust feeling texturally, and slightly past light, bordering on medium bodied.  Springy plums, raspberries, and black berries join in mingling with touches of spice, and a good amount of brooding mushroom and forest floor.   The orange zest is more restrained here, behind the

Savor:  The finish is long with lots of earth, blackberry, and hints of wild flowers.

St. Innocent Pinot Noir would make a great compliment to the thanksgiving meal, especially for pinot lovers.  At $65 a bottle though, it obviously should.  Assuming you can’t drop this much for a bottle, give it a taste, you’ll enjoy the palate broadening experience!  However, if you’re in the market for a flashy bottle, St. Innocent Pinot Noir is certainly good, and your relatives will hopefully appreciate it.
